It’s been awhile since I played along with the Online Craft Club. Since I pulled out those mini UFO’s yesterday to work on I figured today would be a good day to show off my progress. Yes, I after progress after one day - woohoo! Here’s where I’m at this morning after stitching for awhile last night.

And here’s where it was before I started.

I think I’m doing okay so far. I might even have a happy dance to share by next week! Double Woohoo!! Basically, I think I’m going to pack up all the big projects. Figures after almost a year I finally found a place to put them, and it’s time to pack them and move house again. *sigh* I solemnly swear that my stitching will not be so neglected in the new home. Please hold me to that ![]()
I’ve always said that my stitching is like therapy for me. Well, after the last couple days I was in some major need of therapy. To recap real quick, and this is all posted at my personal blog - Just Not Martha so I don’t want to cross post too much of it.
Thursday, car accident. Van smashed. Friday they take the van to the garage, but we haven’t heard anything either way from the adjuster yet as to whether or not it’s totaled, repairable, what. Meantime $200 a week for a rental car… which is a car meaning we don’t all fit into the vehicle to go anywhere together. Someone will always be left behind.
Saturday and Sunday my allergies and ezcema flared up something fierce and I headed to Patient First care center. I got shots (not in the arm) of Prednisone and Benedryl. As well prescriptions for Hydroxyzine and an oral round of Prednisone. Things are improving. They said if I wasn’t 90 percent improved by Wednesday to come back for another set of shots. So far I’m on the path to that 90 percent, thank goodness. Hopefully things keep improving.
Yesterday, Monday, we received a notice that our lease will not be renewed and we have to move out of our townhouse by June 30th when our lease is then expired. *whew* That’s everything in a nutshell.
So, I needed some therapy today between working and getting the kids taken care of. I pulled out my HAED (Heaven and Earth Designs) Butterfly Fae and started stitching on that again. As you can see it’s been awhile, and I wasn’t very far.
Here’s my lapstand and floss box and all the goodies sitting on top of my laptop. Don’t sue me for laptop abuse, it was only there for a few minutes LOL

And here’s a closeup of the progress when I started on it this afternoon.

So, what are you stitching on?

Yes, you read that right. I actually finished stitching something. Small as it may be that project I pulled out awhile ago to stitch on is all done. It’s a tiny little thing not much bigger than a stamp by SanMan Originals.
The fabric I used is a leftover bit for a Silkweaver Solo aida that I’ve been milking forever! So if it looks familiar that’s because I’ve used that fabric before. Love the solo fabrics that they post over there. In fact part of my motivation to start stitching more often again is so that I can buy more fabric! LOL
Well not really, this weather wretched. But we can hope for spring and get started on spring projects. I have been cleaning out the office and going through my box of stash waiting on something to scream at me “stitch me stitch me” so far not a lot of anything screaming yet. No worries, I’m sure something will jump at me soon. In the meantime I’m enjoying stitching some blackwork.
Here’s a little something to make you think spring.

I have been a big slacker on our chart of the week feature here. I blame my lack of shopping, when I was buying cross stitch supplies a few times a month it was easy to pick out a chart or two, or five! But, I admit I haven’t been browsing as much as I used to. All the more reason to get back to stitching more often, so I can shop more! Anyhow, this week’s pick is Strawberries and Cream Sampler by Casey Buonaugurio Designs. I rather enjoy a cute easy to stitch sampler, they are quickly becoming favorites of mine. Sampler’s can go anywhere and be anything, they are flexible! I love flexibility in a design. This one is a little more pink than I would normally pick out, but strawberries are so yummy and pretty all at the same time, so how can I resist? Pick it up, or ask for it at your favorite needlework store today and Happy stitches!

Our chart of the week pick for this week is by Crossed Wing. The boys picked up a bit of a bird watching hobby from my grandfather, and hummingbirds are without a doubt their favorite to watch. And with good reason too, they are fascinating little birds to see in flight. This black-chinned hummingbird is the ninth design in the Crossed Wing Hummingbird Collector series. Of course that’s not all Cross Wing has to offer! If you’re looking to try a little bit of the Cross Wing design style they offer some great free cross stitch patterns to try out as well. Christmas Cardinal, Anna’s Hummingbird, and Great Grey Owl are all awesome freebies, and if you’re a bird lover you’ll definitely enjoy stitching them.

Iâ??m sure youâ??ve seen the gorgeous pieces on display at the county fair every year. Have you ever thought about entering your finished cross stitch into one of these competitions? Here a few things to look at before you submit your entry.
These designs were originally created for the CreativFestival in Toronto during the fall of 2006, by Teresa Wentzler and Jennifer Aikman-Smith! I’m so happy they decided to release these, I had been admiring Moon Dragon by a few other stitchers before the release and now I can have one of my very own! Of course I added both dragons to my shopping cart almost immediately. I’m finally getting back into stitching (credit that to having to lay down so often because of some health problems recently) and I’m looking forward to stitching these fun little dragons.
