The Bird Feeder

I haven’t had a lot of time to paint lately, with getting ready for Alyssa’s birthday party and trying to finish up some other crafty commitments. So, here is a picture of the bird feeder I painted and hung at her school. This is a small clay pot (4″, I believe) and a large clay dish (I want to say it was 8″) that I painted and glued together to make a bird feeder. Hers is the only one like it at school. It’s very original. Again, I can’t take credit for the idea, but I thought it turned out well, anyway.

My Flower Pot

Filed Under (Craft Painting) by Becka on 15-09-2007

As promised, although late, here is the flower pot I painted for my daughter’s Montessori school. I got the idea out of a book that I picked up at Michael’s and just put her name on it, so she’d know which one was hers.

I put a sealer on the pot first, so the water wouldn’t damage it. Then I used regular acrylic paint and put SEVERAL coats to cover it. Then, when it was all painted, I put 2 or 3 coats of varnish on, for good measure.

It was very fun to do and I’m thinking I might paint more pots in the future.

Enjoy!!
