We’ve been talking quite a bit about blogging and stitching on the message board lately. So much so that we’ve created a special section of the forum for blogging stitchers. And to go along with that we’re starting a blogging stitcher’s blogroll. Come post your url on the forum to be added! You do need to be a message board member to post a message there, so if you haven’t registered already now is good time to get signed up! I promise we aren’t mean to the newcomers -lol- We might try enable your stash buying though.

Today’s blog of the moment is none other than the blog of Teresa Wentzler, fantasy designer, illustrator, and so much more.

artistic license

No secret that Teresa is on my list of favorite designers. I have several of her charts, many of which I have not finished stitching -lol- That is mostly due to my lack of stitching mana the past year or so now. But that is all going to change. I will again be a finisher of TW designs!! I swear to it.

As many of you know Teresa has decided to retire from designing and focus more on illustration work. I personally think it’s a fabulous choice on her part, though saddened that we won’t be seeing any new design releases.

It is said that for your own mental health you should change the focus of your work once every 7 years at least. Even if you totally love your job, make good money, and are very content. The focus is the important thing. In my eyes Teresa’s job is still the same, she creates beautiful art work for people to enjoy. The focus is simply a little different.

Anyhow I strayed from my topic a bit there. Do check out Teresa’s blog if you haven’t already. I see she has just recovered from some recent computer issues! I completely sympathize with that.

Do you know what time it is? Perhaps you should try Skagen watches. With their beautiful, uniquely contemporary Danish design they are sure to accent your entire wardrobe and maybe even your stitching!

I was looking at reviews of Amy’s book “Bend-the-Rules Sewing” because I was considered purchasing it, and I noticed in one of the reviews mentioned that Amy had a blog and they loved her sense of style and humor. So, of course I had to Google Amy and check it all out for myself.

First I found amykarol.com and got to her blog “angry chicken” from there. And wow, did I love what I saw at all of the above. The sewing, the creativity, the pudding! ~lol~ I love the simple but creative style that her designs use, and her crazy obsessive passion for aprons! How could I not? Checking out the pictures on her blog actually made me want to get out the sewing machine, the fabric, and start sewing. I haven’t had the urge to do so in awhile so that’s really saying something. Of course life’s priorities took over for the day and I didn’t get a chance to, but I definitely got some sewing ideas and some project thoughts to go on when I do get to actually sit down and sew. And I’m definitely convinced on the book, it was quickly added to my Amazon wishlist.

purple swarovski and jasper necklace knit errantI got so wrapped up in the beautiful pictures on this blog this afternoon that I forgot what I was searching for in the first place! She has some beautiful crafts and unique creations going on. This necklace in particular caught my eye, the colors and the simplicity of it are just beautiful. It makes me want to go out and buy a slew of jewelry making supplies and start putting things together. Well, I’ve always wanted to do that, but these are really inspiring. Knit-errant, great crafter blog and great crafts!

easy crafts for funJust the other day we got blogtipped by Bev at Easy Crafts 4 Fun. I was browsing around over there and I wanted to point you in her direction for some really fun craft projects to make! Admittedly I haven’t written up many project ideas, or designed many cross stitch charts lately here at Stitching the Night Away, so I’m guiding you to friends that have good ideas! Hopefully upon moving into our new townhouse I’ll be inspired again and we’ll get some new things happening here as well.

pincushion challengeAre you up for it?

I came across this recently and thought it was very cool. I got lost for about an hour just looking at the galleries of pincushions that have been made in the challenge! There’s even a great pincushion making tutorial to help you get started creating your own pincushion creations for the challenge. There are different themes to follow for entries, and the current theme is “Eats,” so all the entries for March and April are food related. Those should be interesting! If I had the pincushion making skills I would have to make a big hot fudge sundae cushion! LOL There’s a week left in that challenge and then a new theme will start. Looking forward to seeing the results and to hear what the next theme is. So, what creative pincushioning have you done?

I follow U CommentHave you heard of Do Follow? It’s a plug-in that removes the ??no follow? that is automatically inserted on Wordpress blogs. With a ??no follow? it means a link isn’t spidered by Google and other search engines. When somebody leaves a comment on a blog, it adds a backlinks, but if your blog has “no follow” that link doesn’t help the person who took the time to comment.

This list, is a list of blogs that have do follow comments. This is a list of blogs that was started by Colleen over at GeekySpeaky and is spreading quickly. This blogs have ??Do Follow? installed. Deb over at Two Dog Zoo Travel added me to the list, and pointed me in the right direction for the information for the project.
Here’s what you can do. Get the ??Do Follow? plug-in,, activate it, and let spread the link love.

It’s a great way to say thank you to people who take the time to comment.
