Finding a holiday stocking to stitch is always a long process. I was considering just altering a design on my own to fit into a stocking, and then I saw this!
Heaven and Earth Designs does cross stitch conversions of some of my favorite artists, and my favorite fairy artist is Jessica Galbreth …. so, I was quite pleased to see her Yule Fairy in stocking form.
Gorgeous! I would actually stitch this stocking for myself! Sometimes you just want something different and nontraditional, and this surely fits the bill for a whimsical yule stocking.
Yule Fairy Christmas stocking is a pretty intricate design, even though it’s all whole stitches, it’s a lot of them, so I would venture it’s safe to say that even if you started right now today stitching that it would probably be better to plan to have this finish for the 2010 holiday season.
That’s the great thing about stitching though, we can work on holiday projects all year long and always feel that little bit of seasonal joy any day of the year.
