This week’s pick is House in the Country by The Drawn Thread. I love the little box houses in samplers and such. They remind me of what you think of as your “home” when you’re a little kid. Simple and beautiful on the outside, but ginourmous and full of sweet smelling on the inside. Not the luxury homes one might find in a modern movie or a in some magazine on the shelf. The Drawn Thread captures that perfectly.

Why is the door always red, I wonder? I know there’s a reason behind having a red door, some sort of tradition or mythology or something. I need to go look that up.
