my gripe about “buzz” and being crafty
There’s just not enough craft buzz these days. Everyone says they want to do something creative….then half of those people don’t do it. I’m not holding those people responsible though! There’s just not enough “buzz” going on in general about crafts. New craft products are introduced all the time but we just don’t hear the big chatter about them that we about other products. Just once I’d like to see new craft products get the marketing buzz that things like thigh master, hoodia patch, and a lot of products get these days. It’s funny ~ BeDazzler came close with it’s as seen on tv status and recent revival, but it’s just not a good representation of what’s out there to be creative with! We need to buzz buzz buzz!!

I know what you mean, I know tons of people who enjoy crafts and crafting, but there still seems to be this perception that crafters are a very narrow market segment, like the stereotype of little elderly ladies knitting tea cosies.
I think there are many more crafters around than most people know about. We need to come out of the woodwork.
There is no buzz- because scrapbooking has bogarted the craft industry. Everything crafty from sewing, to even buying vintage junk, gets translated into “how can I glue this on a page…” Now that sounds crass and I am a scrapbooker myself- but I don’t like how the scrapbooking industry has gone. One- I can’t figure out how we are supposed to store some of these pages that are six inches thick, because there are buttons glued on top of seashells, on top or ribbons, on top of chipboard. Two- I don’t get how crafters are supposed to take 4 hours to do a scrapbook page layout. I have 4 kids - I am never going to get any of the major milestones done for my kids if I have to take hours to make one page…. aughhh! -Michelle
