One of the things I need to do when we move is get creative with my furniture solutions. I am going to have double the space and we really don’t have a lot of furniture. I need living room seating and I am thinking of going with just floor cushions instead of trying to get a new sofa right now. In one of our very first apartments we had this huge living room and we used floor cushions as extra seating, it was great when friends came over to play cards and hang out. And of course it’s great for hanging out with the kids and watching movies and playing board games. I might even get brave and make a few myself! I’ll have to look and see what kind of fabric I can find at discount around here. It’s not north carolina furniture by any means, but hey, if it’s comfy who cares what you’re sitting on, right?

What kind of creative furniture solutions have you come up with? I also need to creatively come up with some office furniture solutions. I don’t know if my computer desk will survive being taken apart and moved again! I might go thrift store shopping next weekend.

  1. I think the floor cushions are a great idea!

  2. Floor cushions are an excellent idea. Even if you get other living room furniture later, they are handy for sleepovers, extra seating and make great castle walls for kids!

  3. I got this really bulky coffee table for Christmas last year, but what I love about it is that it’s made of 4 pieces. Each of the pieces transform into a really easy-to-slide ottoman and serve as great extra seating options during parties. I’ve got a couple of floor cushions as well, but I only take them out of storage when necessary.
