It’s becoming more and more common for stitchers, quilters, knitters and crafters in general to be able to shop thier favorite local supply shops online from the comforts of their home computer. Thanks to electronic check processing and easy to use shopping cart systems like paypal and many others shop owners are able to expand their business and take advantage of internet sales in addition to brick and mortar sales. For the shop owner it’s a great way to take special orders and to get more word of mouth business. Stitch groups on the internet discuss shops and service received all the time whether that store is already on the web or not. You’d be surprised how often I read requests for the names of favorite shops when a stitcher is going on vacation or traveling to visit family!

  1. I work for a family owned business in Old Town Keller, Texas.
The area has seen an explosion of small arts & craft businesses and
they have all realised that there is a great captive audience available
    through online sales.

I agree, the availability of free shopping carts such as os-commerce
and payment methods such as PayPal and Google Checkout mean that
even small businesses with little startup money can now develop
    significant online sales.
