Do you have a card?
Many times when getting a new craft business off the ground we forget one of the most important tools we have. The business card. Remember business cards aren’t just for craft shows and bazaars, you can use them every single day. There are many places that will print your business cards for free, you can order specialized graphics, or you can even create your own business cards at home using your printer and craft supplies. If you go with free business cards, make sure you get a simple design and if there are graphics available try and find one that matches your business idea, for example a simple spool of thread for a sewing business card. If you’re worried about free business cards not reflecting the creativity of your business, you can always use them as a base and embellish them.
Some ideas for embellishing your business card:
- Use a shape punch and puch a shape out of the corner.
- Use a small hole punch and punch two holes and thread a ribbon through and tie it into a bow.
- Spray on glitter can give your business card sparkle.
- Layer your business card onto some scrap book papers.
- Staple your card onto a small bag of samples, or to the corner of a free pattern and project idea that you’ll be giving out.
