I think a lot of people overlook the revenue possibilities with free cross stitch patterns.  Free patterns will have all your information, including web stie address, which generates traffic even if they don't stitch the pattern, traffic can generate income all by iteself without any stash being acquired or needle touching fabric.  In the case of Sanman Originals which was mentioned the charts use Sanman Buttons and Sanman flosses as well…so while the chart is free, the bits and bobbles have to be ordered Like mentioned it also lets a stitcher test out a “style” to see how they like it before they invest a large amount of time and money in a larger piece.  The benefits are many, and as far as I’m concerned interest in stitching in general is a good thing, provided the person isn’t stealing by passing out copies of purchased needlework patterns etc…
