I hope you’re ready to start stitching for 2010’s holiday season! It’s Christmas all year round in the craft world, and we can bring a bit of the holidays into our lives whenever we need a pick me up. The fabric cuts include 28 count Jubilee in Mint Green, 32 count Jazlyn in Antique White, and 32 count Belfast Linen in Millenium Blue. As a side note, I love the Millenium Blue and I’ve used that color fabric for a few projects of my own

This year I plan to stitch at least 1 ornament a month so I’ll be ready for Christmas. I would like to get a separate tree just for these ornaments. I have seen this on many blogs and really liked it. I have one ornament almost done,so I’m on my way!
I am not sure I am doing what I am supposed to but I’m trying! I just entered to win a cross stitch leaflet and fabric @retta719’s Stitching the Night Away Craft Blog http://bit.ly/8gXBuf I hope I did this right to get this offer, I love to cross stitch and need some new projects.
Diana, I love that goal. I’ve done that in years past as well. It’s a lot of fun to work on the christmas projects year round, and I find it kind of cheers me up a little sometimes.
i plan to try and restart ware i left off with cross stitching xmas stuff as a xmas gift. i was 16 then now i am 30. lol! i was tought how to by a very special person and would like to surprise her with something special this next xmas season!!
Excellent, My new years resolution is to start a new hobbie, so i think i might get one of these and give it a go.
My stitching resolution is to make a few draft excluders for the house as we’re freezing lol. Also to get a cross stitch cushion finished that’s been on the go for YEARS!
I plan to finish some Christmas projects started at least 15 or 20 years ago including a Christmas crewel piece and a cross stitch Christmas kit with embellishments. It’s been a while since I did any handwork but now that I’m retired I hope to do more.
I had to laugh at the comment from the Susan ahead of me. Back a (long) time ago, when first married, my husband found out that I had unfinished crafts from when I was in junior high–some things promised to people for their weddings, etc.–and he insisted that I finish everything I had started before I bought anything new. It was a great idea, and some people finally got their wedding presents, like embroidered tablecloths. I didn’t really buy any more things, however, just craft books. I saved those craft books and now that my children are grown and I am unemployed, it just occurred to me that I could work on something.
I have a whole stack of patterns with someone in mind for next Christmas, so I could definitely use that fabric. And maybe an Alma Lynne ornament from that book….
Thanks, Loretta, for posting this fabulous first giveaway of the year!
I had plans this Xmas to make some cute potholders for my grown daughters; I wanted to augment this gift with a home-made coobook for them as well. The cookbook had some of my daughters’ favorite recipes and I will add to it every year. One daughter told me it was the best gift she has ever received. The cookbook did have a caveat attached; they also need to add to the cookbook over the years and hand it down to their child. I ended up purchasing the pot holders, but what I found was very cute and Xmas-themed.
I have been sewing for over 35 years, and have made everything from wedding gowns, drapes, quilts, etc… I wish I could actually make a living at it!
Happy New Year to everyone and Happy Crafting!
This is the first Christmas when I did not make my hand stitched stockings,I had a busy season so I machine stiched and decorated some store-bought ones instead, but I did manage to cross stitch some x-mas whimsy designs on homemade felt mittens, I attached some bead dangles and a loop and gave them as ornaments…I have been sewing since gramma taught me how(@ age 8)and I am still just as eager to learn as ever and can’t wait to see what I will create next!…
Have a wonderful and blessed New Year everyone!=)
I plan on starting now for next year! at least i’m planning. lol
I would love to start stitching Christmas ornaments for everyone in the family for this Christmas!
Thanks for a wonderful giveaway
I am already a email subscriber, Thanks!
My goal this year is to finish two cross stitch projects that I started ten years ago. One is a stocking on navy blue. Please tell me that I am not crazy. The other one is Santa with forest animals that is on 32 count. I think that maybe I will finish it. Alma Lynn was one of my first favorite cross stitch designers. I made one of her teddy bears and won a ribbon at a craft show with it when I was twelve.
My stitching plans for January are to start 2 exchanges and a christmas ornament. I’m hoping to stitch an ornament a month so that I have so special ones for my tree. If I can manage to stich 2 of each then I will have presents for everyone too lol.

This year, my goal is to stitch and finish one ornament a month. Stitching is the fun and easy part for me…the actual finishing is something I tend to procrastinate about!

Me too Carol! I’ve got about a dozen that are already stitched, but need finished so that they can be hung on the tree next year.
I have an advent calendar that is almost done, and a Christmas stocking that is about half done. It should take too long to get these wrapped up.
